BountyDisaster


Bounty is a type of Disaster Level. In this disaster, random NPCs will become Hostile without warning and will attack you.

The warning banner for this Disaster displays: BOUNTY ON YOUR HEAD! TRUST NO ONE!

If all the bounty hunters on the floor have been killed or knocked out, the player can teleport freely.

Notes[]

  • Any humanoid NPC aside from Cops, Supercops, Cop Bots, and homeless wandering NPCs can be a "Bounty Hunter".
    • Followers from previous floors will never be bounty hunters.
  • It's impossible to distinguish bounty hunters from benign NPCs without entering their line as sight, as they do not obtain their bounty weapons and aren't even marked as guilty until spotting the player.
    • Players can tell whether there are still bounty hunters on the floor by attempting to teleport, as the level will not allow teleportation until all bounty hunters have been killed.
  • Bounty hunters gain a Pistol, Shotgun or Axe when they become Hostile, using it if it is better than their held weapon.
  • Any NPCs Aligned with the bounty hunter NPC will also become Hostile, although won't pull out a weapon like the bounty hunter does unless they also spawned as a bounty hunter.
  • If the player is a cop or supercop, bounty hunters will be marked guilty when hostile giving a player a good grind for the big quest, however it is slightly more risky than riot.
  • Since all Bounty Hunters are guilty, Cops and Supercops can avoid bounter hunters more easily than other classes.

Tips and Strategies[]

  • Bounty Hunter NPCs are decided when the level is loaded, meaning that if an NPC sees you and does not automatically turn Hostile they are not a bounty hunter and will never try to claim the bounty on your head.
  • Take great care to avoid groups of NPCs that are aligned with each-other - such as wandering Gangsters, Shopkeepers with Goons or Slavemasters with Slaves - as if a Bounter Hunter belonging to these groups becomes Hostile, all their nearby allies become so as well.
  • Be careful around windows, as Bounty Hunters inside the building will become Hostile if they see the Player pass by.
  • Keep your distance when entering the line of sight of NPCs you plan to talk to such as Shopkeepers, or you have a high chance of receiving a Shotgun or Axe to the face.
  • Take note of the locations of solitary Doctors, as they cannot wield weapons even if they are a Bounty Hunter, which makes them a low-risk source of healing at best or some easy EXP at worst. Bounty Hunter Doctors actually gain a weapon in their inventory when they see the player, making them a good source of high durability/ammo weapons as well.
  • When going for an election victory consider ignoring floor electability entirely on bounty floors, as gaining a positive floor electability can be difficult to impossible.
