WATCH OUT NOW!

Streets of Rogue ends after you complete the Mayor Village level. There are 2 main endings and both involve the Mayor's Hat.

Good Endings[ | ]

To get the good ending, you must acquire the Mayor's Hat from the Mayor and give a speech at Podium. Once the speech finishes, the Epilogue will play. There are a number of different ways to get the Mayor's Hat:

Option 1: Neutralize the Mayor[ | ]

HostileTakeover   This can be done via any method of neutralization, either directly or indirectly. It will award the Achievement Hostile Takeover.

Option 2: Take the Hat[ | ]

PeacefulTakeover   Become the new Mayor without neutralizing him or winning the election. This will award the Achievement Peaceful Takeover .

  • Ask him for his hat. (Need to use a Hypnotizer or the Comedian's ability first)

Option 3: Win the Election[ | ]

LegalTakeover   Have a positive Electability by the time you reach Mayor Village. Doing so will award the Achievement Legal Takeover.

MayorCityHall
  • Have your Electability (City) be 1 or more.
  • Go to a golden building in Mayor Village, talk to a Clerk and select "Run for Mayor".
  • The Clerk will then tell you that the results are in and to meet him in the park.
  • Once him and the Mayor reach the podium area you can ask the Clerk to tell the results.
    • If your Electability is greater than 1 you will be announced the winner and be able to take the Hat from the Mayor after talking to him

Bad Ending[ | ]

TheBadEnding   To get the bad ending, you must destroy the Mayor's Hat by "losing it down a hole". That will award the Achievement The Bad Ending.

Methods[ | ]

  • Mayor Village sometimes has pits surrounded by iron fences. Destroy part of the fence, drop the Hat, then throw/knock it into the pit.
  • Knock the Hat off the edge of the map.
    • The easiest way to reach the level's edge is to use a Giantizer and to walk through the level's walls until you reach the edge. From here, you can drop the hat and push it off the edge.
  • Pushing the Mayor into a pit/off the map while he is wearing the Mayor's Hat will also trigger the Bad Ending.

EPILOGUE[ | ]

The epilogue is a series of textboxes that are displayed after player gives their speech in the Good Ending or immediately after obtaining the Bad Ending.

Good Endings[ | ]

The first textbox explains how the player acquired the Mayor's Hat.

Option 1: Neutralized the Mayor[ | ]

Condition Epilogue Text
Killed the Mayor And so, the Mayor died a horrific death, thus making it impossible to govern with any degree of competence.
Knocked out the Mayor And so, the Mayor slept peacefully on the ground while their position was usurped by a newcomer.
Arrested the Mayor And so, the Mayor was arrested and sent to jail, destined to spend the rest of their life eating imitation brand jailhouse Fud.
Enslaved the Mayor And so, the Mayor was enslaved, a punishment which lasted about a day until an ill-advised solo morning jog ended... badly.
Zombified the Mayor And so, the Mayor was no longer interested in fulfilling their mayoral duties, having been turned into a mindless Zombie.

Option 2: Took the Hat[ | ]

Condition Epilogue Text
Asked for the Hat And so, the Mayor managed to lose every single ounce of power after handing their hat to some random person off the street who "seemed pretty cool".
Threatened for the Hat And so, the great and all-powerful Mayor succumbed to a threat from some random person they had just met five seconds earlier.
Bought the Hat And so, the Mayor sold their hat to an extremely competent huckster, which went down in history as one of the stupidest decisions in political history.
Stole the Hat And so, the Mayor’s hat was unceremoniously stolen from atop their head, ending their reign in perhaps the most embarrassing way imaginable.

Option 3: Won the Election[ | ]

Condition Epilogue Text
Electability (City) of more than 1 And so, the Mayor was defeated after a long and arduous election process, and ended up being a surprisingly good sport about it.

Custom Characters[ | ]

The second textbox changes slightly if you are playing a Custom Character.

Condition Epilogue Text
Playing a normal Class The denizens of the city rejoiced, as their new mayor brought hope for a brighter future.
Playing a Custom Character The Mayor gave a rousing speech that filled the citizens with hope for a brighter future.
Killed Everyone Unfortunately nobody was around to hear the new mayor’s speech. Bummer

The remaining textboxes are always the same:

  • In time, the mayor became corrupted by power, money, and bacon cheeseburgers, prompting the formation of a new Resistance.
  • Events repeated themselves in an infinite loop. This came to be known as "the circle of life".
  • Some might consider this to be a beautiful thing. Others might consider the whole process to be ultimately kinda pointless.
  • But at this moment, no one in the city is interested in pondering the nature of existence.
  • No, there is only one thing on everyone's minds, the only thing in this world that truly matters...
  • ...partying down.

This textbox is added if you killed everyone around the podium, you don't have to kill everyone inside the district, but rather neutralise everyone around or near the podium and is close enough to hear the speech.

Condition Epilogue Text
Killed everyone in the village Or at least that’s what would of happened if there were actually enough people around for a party. Mega bummer. (The game then continues in a similar fashion of the bad ending)

At this point, everyone listening to the new Mayor's speech will begin to dance and the credits will roll. After they finish, a final end of level statistics box will be shown. After closing the box, you will return to Home Base.

BAD ENDING

The textboxes for the bad ending are always the same. The screen will immediately fade to black as the first textbox appears.

  • And so, the Mayor's hat fell down a hole, making it impossible for anyone to assume power.
  • The city's denizens had no idea what to do without an all-powerful figure in office controlling their lives, and the city descended into chaos.
  • The Resistance members, finding themselves without an enemy to rally against, got all super depressed and existential.
  • So in other words, congratulations on finding the "bad ending".
  • There will be no "partying down" for you! Not this time.

The credits will roll without music. After they finish, a final end of level statistics box will be displayed. After closing the box, you will return to Home Base.
