Gibbed is a unique status effect in Streets of Rogue. Gibbed can only affect living characters at the moment that character dies. It causes the affected dying character to burst into blood and gore (rather than play their normal death animation), leaving behind giblets.
Gibbed also affects already-dead corpses once they've received about 15 points of cumulative damage.
Notes[]
- Gibbed cannot affect Robots or Electronic characters (including Cop Bots and the Killer Robot). It's unclear if this is because they are immune to status effects, or for the sake of realism, or both.
- Since dead robots can't be gibbed, there is no way to bypass the post-death explosion caused by a dead Cop Bot or Killer Robot.
Interaction with other Statuses[]
- Gibbed does not bypass Resurrection. Characters affected by that status will still resurrect as normal instead of bursting into giblets.
- Bodies which are gibbed don't explode:
- Gibbed bypasses the effect of Exploding Bodies if that mutator is enabled.
- Gibbed also bypasses the Slave Helmet explosion when a non-freed Slave is gibbed.
Trivia[]
- The only way to guarantee gibbing all the time is the Bloody Mess trait, which is only available to Custom Characters.
