Crooked - Less XP and Big Quest point loss for killing/neutralizing/arresting innocents. Crooked+ removes the penalty entirely, but you still won't gain any XP.
The Law no longer causes you to lose XP when killing or arresting innocents.
Tips and Strategies[ | ]
Arresting an NPC is worth more XP and Marks than killing them.
Arresting an NPC is loud; people nearby will investigate the noise and immediately become Hostile if they are allied with the NPC being arrested.
Hostile NPCs can only be arrested from behind if they aren't stunned, but non-Hostile NPCs can be arrested from any angle.
Try to separate NPCs from their allies before arresting them. Knocking on doors, tapping on windows, and punching walls are all good ways to separate them if they are too close together.
If the NPC you are trying to arrest is Hostile against you, you can stun them by throwing a Banana Peel at them, tazing them with a Taser, freezing them with a Freeze Ray, or throwing a Dizzy Grenade at them. Paralyzing them with Paralyzer Traps or similar items won't work, however, because they can still turn toward you and punch you away.
Arrests can be performed during the stun time provided by Banana Peels.
You cannot arrest Zombies or other non-humans, except Gorillas and Vampires.
With Crooked+, you won't take any penalties for arresting innocents. It's often a good idea to arrest most NPCs on the floor for their loot once you have this trait, but be careful not to provoke a fight you can't handle.
Nimble Fingers is particularly useful for a character with Handcuffs as it significantly speeds up the process of arresting an NPC.
