Tips and Strategies[]
- How to unlock: Unlocking the Jock can be easily done with the mutator Exploding Bodies turned on. Killing characters near destructible objects and barriers such as Brick Walls and Wooden Walls until you reach Destruction Level 75 or higher is very quick and easy. The Soldier and the Demolitionist are good candidates to speed it up if players do not wish to use mutators; simply taking advantage of the Giant status effect to plow through parts of the border wall is also an easy way to unlock the Jock.
- How to fight: Jocks are one of the best melee classes in the game. They have a lot of health and speed, so don't be afraid to fight multiple foes at once with a good melee weapon. Use corners and doors to force ranged opponents into close combat.
- Stock up on Muscly Pills from Loadout-O-Matics, which cost as little as $30 on earlier floors and are unaffected by the Jock's "Sucker" trait.
- Chaaarge should be used minimally in combat as it leaves the Jock highly vulnerable, deals less damage than a bat, and is often redirected into unpredictable trajectories by hostile NPCs. Chaaarge is best reserved for destroying objects and calculated retreats.
- How to finish missions: Due to having Loud and Computer Illiterate, stealth and subtlety are out of the question for most missions. Try to use Chaaarge effectively to complete missions by destroying walls and windows.
- When Chaaarging, it's best to use Level Boundary walls, Steel Walls, pools of water, and even Safes to stop movement after a short distance.
- Think out of the box when using Chaaarge. For example, you can't charge through the Steel Walls of a hideout but you can charge through a window to get inside. You can also charge diagonally at the window to break it without running uncontrollably into the building.
- Charging through corners of buildings and into a Level Boundary wall is a great way to gain entry inside.
- Jocks can still be hurt while charging and it won't cancel their charge. NPC damage can change their charge trajectory slightly. Touching Fire (From hitting Stoves, Flaming Barrels, etc.) deals 10 damage; hitting a Generator deals 50.
- It's tempting to use Chaaarge to get XP from Master of Disaster by completely destroying entire floors. Don't do so unless you're prepared to face the consequences. You only get 2 XP per wall section destroyed and risk being attacked NPCs and being damaged by hazards as you charge, uncontrollably, back and forth across the floor. The best way to use Master of Disaster is when close to gaining a level at the end of a floor. Destroy some objects and walls to gain just enough XP to level up before leaving the floor.
- Sucker shouldn't deter you from buying items. If you need food, a tool, or a weapon, buy it.
