Law Abiding Law Enforcer is the Big Quest for the Cop. In this quest, you earn "Marks" toward a promotion to Supercop by arresting or killing Guilty NPCs. The goal is to earn 10 Marks per floor, 30 Marks per district, and 150 Marks for the entire run.
You lose 1 Mark for arresting an innocent NPC and 2 Marks for killing an innocent NPC.
Super Special Ability[]
While playing as the Cop after completing Law Abiding Law Enforcer with the Super Special Abilities mutator enabled:
- You become a Supercop. Your sprite changes to Supercop and you will gain +2 Endurance, +1 Speed, +1 Melee, and +1 Firearms.
Tips and Strategies[]
- Like the quest says, you need to play by the book. Try to avoid arresting or killing innocents whenever possible.
- It's worth searching each level fully for Guilty NPCs. The more you arrest or kill, the better.
- Drug Dealers and their followers are always Guilty, and usually pretty easy to take down.
- Stealing from the innocent will not cause you to lose Marks, but you will still lose XP unless you have Crooked+.
- Always pay attention to the Guilty status of NPCs you plan to kill or arrest; you could lose a lot of Marks really quickly if you don't.
- Your Mark count CAN go negative, so be careful.
- Certain disasters such as Riot and Zombies are useful for spawning a constant stream of guilty NPCs to arrest or kill.
- Weapons that stun or freeze NPCs are useful, such as the Taser or the Freeze Ray, allowing you to arrest a hostile character safely for extra Marks and XP.
- Causing an NPC to hit another NPC will make them Guilty, unless they are a property owner.
- The special Cop trait, Crooked, makes this Big Quest much easier. The base form of the trait halves Mark loss, and Crooked+ completely eliminates it, making it trivial to meet your goals on each floor.
- Although it is dangerous, you can generate more Guilty NPCs by failing to pay off your Debt, which creates Assassins on each floor. Make sure you have the firepower to deal with them first, though!
- If you don't mind using Mutators, having Disasters Every Level and disabling all disasters but Zombies or Riot is an alternative way to complete this mission, as Zombies and rioting NPCs always count as Guilty. Having Infinite Ammo helps, too.
