Backstory
"Being nice doesn't always get the job done. The Mech Pilot takes zero-tolerance to approach to cleaning up the city, acting as judge, jury, and executioner. OK, pretty much entirely executioner. Having already gained a reputation of their unique brand of street justice, the city's undesirables are ready to take on this hulking grim reaper, while the city's law enforcers are ready to ignore you in favor of making their lives easier"

The Mech Pilot is a playable character. Outside of their mech suit, they wear an olive-colored jumpsuit with a harness; presumably this secures them firmly inside their mech. They are unlocked by purchasing the Character Pack DLC.

The Mech Pilot starts the game with a Mech, a power armor suit which they can enter and exit at will. The Mech has a separate health bar which can be replenished with an Oil Container. The Mech provides its Pilot with an extremely powerful, infinite ammunition Laser Cannon to slaughter scumbags with.

Special Ability Traits[ | ]

Tips and Strategies[ | ]

  • How to fight: The Mech Pilot has very low stats other than Speed when outside of their Mech, so you will have to rely on powerful weapons if you must fight as the Pilot rather than the Mech. The Mech, on the other hand, is one of the deadliest fighters in the game; its Laser Cannon makes short work of anybody it might fight. However, be careful, because the Laser Cannon does need a small amount of time to recharge - fighting very large groups at once isn't recommended.
  • How to complete missions: Try to create alternate pathways into and through buildings so that your Mech can fit inside places it otherwise wouldn't be able to, if you are planning to complete a mission through violence. Stealth is a viable option for the Mech Pilot, however - their one advantage, having 4 Speed, means that it is very easy to sneak by inattentive guards. You may also want to lure mission-related NPCs and Big Quest targets out of their buildings by breaking walls or windows from outside so that you can fight them in the Mech.
  • Stealth is difficult while in the Mech - don't be afraid to get out of it if you need to be stealthier or run away. NPCs can't interact with the Mech while it's inactive, so don't worry about leaving it lying around.
  • Don't clutter your inventory with too many healing items, as you'll be spending most of your time in the Mech. You may want to focus on just one or two types which either heal a lot (Bacon Cheeseburger) or have alternative uses (Beer).
  • An Ammo Dispenser can refill your Oil Container, which you can use to repair your mech. If you lose your Oil Container to a Thief or the floor's Ammo Dispenser is broken somehow, Loadout-O-Matics will also sell one Oil Container per floor.
  • The Kill Profiter, Kill Ammunizer and especially the Kill Healthenizer are all extraordinarily useful for the Mech Pilot, as they already rely heavily on killing to complete regular missions and their Big Quest.
  • Another very useful item is the Tranquilizer Gun, which helps make up for the unmeched Mech Pilot’s low stats, and allows them to neutralize NPCs inside buildings - where the Mech Pilot is usually weakest.
  • Selling the powerful weapons dropped by Scumbag NPCs can be a good way to earn money to afford the Oil that the Mech burns through.
  • Items that increase strength can allow the mech pilot to break through walls he normally couldnt. For instance the Braclet of strength when combined with the axe/sword is capable of breaking through wooden walls.
  • Don't make me angry and Confident in Crowds, do not work when inside the mech suit.

Quotes[ | ]

General chat:[ | ]

  • "I feel kinda naked without my mech."

Note: NPC Mech Pilots don't spawn normally, and can only be spawned by a Friend Phone, a Clone Machine, etc.

At the Homebase:[ | ]

  • "I've based my life around the arcade game "NARC"."

Trivia[ | ]

  • "NARC" is a reference to a 1988 run and gun arcade game of the same name, which features heavily-armed vigilantes hired by the President to eliminate a criminal organization. The game was famously controversial for its heavy violence and depiction of the indiscriminate slaughter of "scumbags".
