Power Sap

PowerSap

Custom Character Point Value: 5
Operating Bar Required?: No
Cooldown Time: 8
Charge-Up Required?: No
Description
Creates an energy blast around the character that disables electronic objects, damages NPCs, heals the character (when applicable), and increases Charge Level (when applicable).
In-Game Tooltip
"Releases a blast of energy that recharges you if it hits most electronic devices"
Recommended:

Power Sap is a Special Ability used by the Robot. When an eligible electronic device is hit by Power Sap, it heals the character if the character is Electronic, and increases Charge Level to level 4 if the character is Rechargeable.

Property owners will become Hostile if they witness the blast hitting an object they own. Objects hit by Power Sap will be disabled, similar to the effects of an EMP Grenade blast or a nearby Power Box being disabled/destroyed.

When applicable, it deals 8 damage and heals for 25. With the Robot's Super Special Ability or the relevant special traits it can be modified to deal 24 damage and heal 40.

Notes[ | ]

  • Rechargeable is not required for Power Sap to heal the Player and damage NPCs. Even without Rechargeable, the Player still heals from using Power Sap on applicable electronics.
  • The hitbox range for Power Sap is actually larger than its animation size.
  • Power Sap will only provide one unit of healing at a time. For example, if it's used simultaneously on a Sell-O-Matic and Loadout-O-Matic, the user will only gain 25 health, not 50.

Special Ability Traits[ | ]

  • Sappy-Healthy - Power Sap gives you more health from electronic devices
  • Sap Damage - Power Sap does more damage to people in its radius

Super Special Ability[ | ]

Tips and Strategies[ | ]

  • Power Sap will instantly neutralize Cop Bots. They will still explode afterward.
  • Power Sap can hit objects through walls.
  • Power Sap cannot hit NPCs through walls or windows, even diagonally. This can create some odd situations where intuitively it looks like it should have hit the NPC, but it didn't.
  • One small explosion (30 damage) plus one Power Sap (8 damage) will kill most NPCs outright.
  • Power Sap does enough damage against NPCs that it can be used to finish extremely low health enemies at a safe distance.
