Radiation Blasts

Periodic Radiation Blasts is a type of Disaster Level. In this disaster, a 20 second timer will appear on screen and begin to count down. Once the timer reaches zero, a powerful radiation blast will occur and deal 20 damage to anyone who is outside. Then the timer resets back to 20 seconds and begins to count down once again.

Tips and Strategies

• The blast affects the entire level and the only way to avoid it is to be inside a building.
• Bug/Exploit with Teleport-Happy. If you teleport right when the timer is about to hit 0 you will not take damage even if both the starting location and the destination are outside.
• No NPCs will be outside during this disaster.
• It's possible to trick or force NPCs outside in order to force them to take damage.
• It's usually best to wait for a radiation blast before going outdoors.
• Always have a plan on where you will hide from the next radiation blast before going outside.
• A building is defined by the floor, not the surrounding walls. If you stand on the floor of a completely destroyed house, you are still considered "indoors" and will not take damage from the radiation. City Park flooring is not considered to be "inside"! You will still take damage if you are in a city park chunk.
