The Rock is a Thrown Weapon in Streets of Rogue which, despite being seemingly useless, is in-fact very useful. It's usefulness comes from it's commonness and the abilities it has to: detonate lasers, finish off weak enemies from range, setting off pressure plates and many more. When thrown at an NPC it deals 5 damage and is consumed. For most other purposes, it is not consumed.
Tips and Strategies[ | ]
- This tool is extremely useful, no matter what class you have picked. Most commonly, their uses are for damaging, triggering, and distracting.
- Hitting any object with this will make a noise, and draw any attention around it. Property owners will investigate the noise, making it extremely useful for stealth characters.
- As other items can be used in many of the same ways as a rock, it may not be worth taking up an inventory slot with them:
- Any item can be used to trigger lasers, by dropping the item and then hitting it through with a melee attack. This does not destroy the item, even with red lasers. However, using a rock is safer as it can be thrown from a distance and around corners.
- Guns can be used to deal damage from a distance. While a bullet is consumed, so is the rock when used in this way. However the rock flies faster than a bullet, making it easier to hit far-off opponents, and a bullet is worth more cash than a rock.
- There are many ways to distract NPCs, such as attacking nearby objects, using items etc. However most of them either cannot be done from a distance, or are not reusable, while the rock is.
