Seeds are a game mechanic and Game Mode. Each one is a unique string of characters which represents the common "inspiration" used to generate all random elements in a particular run. While most aspects of Streets of Rogue are randomized during its procedural generation, Seeds give a way to replicate that run again at a later time.
To enter a seed, speak with the Scientist at Home Base.
Notes[ | ]
- Playing the same seed again may not result in a run that's 100% identical each time, but all the major/noteworthy elements will be the same -- such as map layout, missions assigned, mission rewards, NPC locations, loot found, types of NPCs spawned, buildings generated within the map, and even results received when using an Augmentation Booth.
- The way the game processes seeds can change between versions, so a seed from a particular release shouldn't be assumed to give the same results in all future releases of the game.
Tips and Strategies[ | ]
- Seeds can be a great way to farm/grind (if that's your thing), to try out different builds/approaches in the exact same environment, or for debugging.
