The Soldier is a an NPC and playable character. They wear typical military clothing and start with Combat Helmets to complete the look.
Super Special Ability[]
- Higher Accuracy.
- Free refills at Ammo Dispensers and Loadout-O-Matics.
NPC[]
Soldiers first appear in Park, acting as the police force in the stage, spawning only in or near Military Outposts. They can be hired and be commanded by the player and behave much like hired Gangsters.
A Soldier can also appear in Malls in Downtown or Uptown selling guns. They are usually equipped with a combat helmet and/or a knife, pistol, or rarely a Machine Gun.
All Soldiers are Aligned with other Soldiers (including players that are Soldiers), but Rivals with Cannibals.
Soldiers will spawn and roam the level during the War Zone disaster. Fortunately, they are Neutral to most character classes and will protect the level as best they can from the Cannibals that also spawn - just don't get caught in the crossfire.
The soldier, like the cannibals, in the War Zone disaster will not drop the items they are equipped with.
Drops[]
Money (common)
Grenade (uncommon)
Combat Helmet

Tips and Strategies[]
Playable[]
- How to fight: Soldiers are focused around firearms and other ranged weaponry. They start the game armed to the teeth and should keep an eye out for more guns such as a Pistol or Shotgun. However, their Melee stat is still very good, so they can resolve less dangerous fights with melee weapons or fists.
- How to finish a mission: The "kick in the door" approach works well enough for the Soldier. If you'd rather not kill everyone or use too much ammo, Soldiers can use the same methods for mission completion available to everyone - use explosives to create shortcuts through buildings or sneak around.
- Soldiers start with a Combat Helmet and the Modern Warfarer trait - don't be afraid to play risky if a safe approach is not an option.
- It's recommended to upgrade Modern Warfarer as soon as possible, as regenerating health beyond 20 HP allows for free blood bags and stops players from being one-shot by traps.
- Along with the upgraded Modern Warfarer trait, you can use that to your advantage when doing co-op, allowing you to revive players with 20 HP.
- Alternatively, if you are doing this alone, you can use the trait to combo with No Limits and find a hospital, allowing you to milk the clerk with free money.
- If you are playing with Low Health for All Mutator ,the Modern Warfarer trait is very recommended to upgrade because the Modern Warfarer+ still regenerate your health up to 40 and the soldier's max health is 25(with 2 Endurance),which means you can recover to max health if you can hide a while from a battle without using any health items even you upgraded your endurance to 4.
NPC[]
- Soldiers are very good fighters who sometimes appear with Machineguns or Combat Helmets, and because of Modern Warfarer they can run away to regenerate lost health if they aren't killed fast. They are good allies when playing as a Soldier or hiring one, but dangerous enemies if one has to go against them in Missions or as a Cannibal.
- Soldiers sometimes have a Machinegun, Combat Helmet and two Grenades in their inventory - quite a bounty. You can get these items from them by killing them, knocking them out, stealing them with Sticky Gloves (helmets or grenades only), or buying them with Art of the Deal.
- If you neutralize a soldier, grab the dropped Grenades quickly, or they may be used against you!
- A Soldier can also appear in malls in Downtown and Uptown, selling ranged weapons such as Rocket Launchers alongside the Machinegun and weapon mods.
Notes[]
- Unlike the rivalries of Gangsters, Scientists and Gorillas, Soldiers' rivalry doesn't appear as a Trait and so cannot be given to Custom Characters or removed at Augmentation Booths. This is unique to Soldiers, Cannibals, Vampires, and Werewolves.
